An afternoon with the ladies.
Who ever knew that doing a photo shoot could be so much fun (maybe not for the poor model person who admitted she was a tad nervous, but did a great job anyway! Thanks heaps Liz!)Myself, Liz the model, Gina the photographer and Annie the "stylist" spent a windy Sunday afternoon getting all "Americas Top model" like up at One Tree Hill. And these pics are the result. Thanks to all involved, it was great!
Liz is modeling my designs that I am going to be selling at the Grey Lynn Festival this coming weekend, 28th Nov 09.
Hope you like :)

My space
Hey everybody, this is what my space looks like. Luckily for me our house had had a great big conservatory plonked on the front of it, so where our front door was originally has now become where my sewing machine and overlocker are (nicely tucked away!) and the almost the rest of the conservatory is taken up with my cutting table, hanging rack and many rolls of fabric which designers seem to accumulate!

Wedding dress for Sarah
This is Sarah in her dress, 1st pic is from fitting number 2 so all it needed was the lining sewn in and Viola! All Done!!!! as shows in the rest of the pics
The Wedding dress is now done, wedding has been and gone and hopefully the bride and groom are enjoying a great honeymoon! What a totally easy experience that was, no Bridezilla here, Sarah was the most coolest cucumber about to get married. She lives in Sydney but comes from little old NZ, and the wedding was here too. I saw the Bride to be 3 times over the space of 9 months, thats how very easy it was for me!
Last year Sarah sent me a pic by email of what she wanted and then her and I got together in January to get started and get the fabric for the dress, this took all of a couple of hours. Myself, Sarah and Nicci all said "wow that was fast!" Then in June Sarah flew into Auckland for a fitting and other wedding related stuff and you know what, that was easy too! Some women I have heard can turn into scary monsters around wedding time, not this girl, as I said cool as a cucumber!
End of August, Sarah and hubby to be flew into Auckland for the wedding a week later, I saw her on the sunday before for a fitting the on the wednesday/thursday finished the dress off and a happy Bride picked it up thursday afternoon for the wedding the next day. By all accounts it all went well, the day was a stunner and the bride looked beautiful!
R U Precious
Well, the lovely Ratna, partner, his band and their daughter Ruby left for Berlin for a year in May 09. She has entrusted to me the running of her business, WOWeeee! So while she has been away I have been supplying her stockists around the country with more R U Precious clothing, trying ever so much to make sure I get the receipt/statement off to The G.S.T lady on time and now as the Grey Lynn Festival is upon us making up stock for that. So now my front room is taken over by a big cutting table and lots of rolls of fabric, but this is great! No time for mischief making as there is too much work to do!

Back again
It's been soooo long since I have added anything to my blog, fortunately for me I have been so flat out sewing that I just haven't had the time to do this. For the last 2 1/2 weeks I have pretty much been tied to my machines getting a whole heap of stock ready for Ratna at R U Precious, she took off to do a stall at WOMAD and by all accounts did very well! Now I am just finishing off what is left for her winter range and mulling over a few ideas of my own(watch this space for pics!) I have also got a wedding dress to do this year, I am going international! The bride is in Sydney and I am in little old NZ, how cool is that, will hopefully be able to post pics, (with brides permission of course) later on in the year, after the wedding.
